Bound for the land of Oz

Well, it's less than a month now before we are on the plane to Brissy to start our grand tour of Australia. Here is a map showing where we are intending to go. Over 20 thousand K's, whew!

We are starting in Brisbane and heading South to Melbourne, then we have to go North, up the middle to be in Cairns by the end of July to meet up with our friends who are yachting over from New Zealand, on their way to Greece. After that, we go down to Surfers by September when we will meet up with our kids and grandchildren. Then it's off to Darwin and on round to Perth. We should be back in Victoria by about Christmas time and, with a bit of luck, may get across to Tassie. Our call sign on the CB Channel 18 will be 'Pandora Kiora'.

We have a budget of $550 per week which will cover food, camping costs and fuel plus any other expenses like maintenance on the van. We are expecting to do a bit of freedom camping and have a great map book with the Freedom sites listed called Camps 4 Australia Wide. We are also using Gregory's Caravan and Camping, Lonely Planet and of course Grey Nomads Guide. So keep watching this space for updates.
